Alejandro is a senior student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and has studied since 1989 with many Tibetan Bon and Buddhist masters. He was born in Argentina. In 2006 Alejandro obtained his PhD in Tibetan Religions from Rice University in Houston, TX. He currently teaches courses in spirituality and health at the University of Texas Health Science Center and does research at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, using Tibetan meditation and mind-body techniques with cancer patients.

Alejandro is a senior student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and has studied since 1989 with many Tibetan Bon and Buddhist masters. He was born in Argentina, a very Catholic country, grew up Jewish and attended a Presbyterian school. He later became Buddhist, married a Catholic and his children now attend a Greek Orthodox school. After studying with various Hindu and Buddhist teachers, he became a senior student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche at the Ligmincha Institute. Since 1995, he has been teaching Tibetan meditation and mind-body techniques in the US, Mexico, Latin America and Europe.

In 2006 Alejandro obtained his PhD in Tibetan Religions from Rice University in Houston, TX. He currently teaches courses in spirituality and health at the University of Texas Health Science Center and does research at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, using Tibetan meditation and mind-body techniques with cancer patients.

In his teaching, he combines the academic, the Bon-Buddhist practices and his experience in the healthcare field. He also serves as the Director of the Ligmincha Texas Institute for Tibetan Meditative and Healing Arts.

Alejandro is the author of Chöd Practice in the Bön Religion, and has also written various articles on the role of mind-body practices in integrative cancer care, on Tibetan meditation and ritual practices, and on the intersection of humanities, spirituality and medicine.

Alejandro lives with his wife, Erika, their two children, and two dogs in Houston, TX. He loves swimming, biking, and soccer.
