Choza Bonmo's instructions and her song of experience
Dzogchen teachings from the female lineage of Yetri Thasel by Geshe Gelek Jinpa in Yeshe Sal Ling

 

Geshe Gelek Jinpa will give Dzogchen teachings centered around the experiential instructions left by Choza Bonmo, the last of the famous Khandro lineage of Yetri Thasel. Also, he will introduce us to her ``song of experience'', a beautiful example of how Dzogchen teachings sometimes spontaneously erupt in poetic form from a great practitioner.
If we show enough enthusiasm, this might become the first of a series of teachings: there are twenty-two Khandros in the female lineage of Yetri Thasel. Each one of them has left her life's experience condensed to one sentence of instruction to her successor. Each of those sentences may well serve as the motto of a weekend of Dzogchen teachings and Geshe Gelek might teach a different Khandro's instructions in every year, starting with Choza Bonmo, and working back in time, to her teacher, and so on.

 

Literature: Geshe Gelek, together with Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, and assisted by Carol Ermakova and Dima Ermakov as editors, has composed a lavishly illustrated book on the female lineage of Yetri Thasel, containing both the Tibetan original and an English translation of a biography of Choza Bonmo, of her song of experience, and of the essential instruction of each of the twenty-two Khandros: "Heart Essence of the Khandro" (Heritage publishers, 2012).
