The Garuda Association in Poland was established in 1995 by students of a Tibetan master, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. The organization associates practitioners of Yungdrung Bön, the oldest spiritual tradition of Tibet. Bön is the indigenous religion of the Tibetan Plateau and its influence is vivid in the entire Tibetan culture. After Buddhism appeared in Tibet, both traditions mixed with each other. Yungdrung Bon is a complete Buddhist path to enlightenment transmitted by Buddha Tonpa Shenrab. The canon of teachings consists of about 300 tomes divided into the teachings of Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen (Great Perfection). Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche visits Poland each year to transmit spiritual teachings. Other Bön masters have also started to visit Poland since 2000: Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche, Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, Ponlob Trinley Nyima Rinpoche, Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche, Chongtul Rinpoche.

The Chamma Ling Center in Wilga is the main center of the Garuda Association (about 60 km from Warsaw). Local centers can be found in Warsaw, Poznań, Sopot, Białystok, Wrocław, Katowice, Krakow, Łódź and Wadowice. The Garuda Association engages in cultural and educational activities aimed at the preservation of the Bön tradition and the culture of Tibet (e.g. Tibetan culture festivals, lectures in Polish universities).

To unify the organization of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in different countries, the name Ligmincha Poland is being used more and more frequently. Ligmincha International carries out many projects such as: 1) the combination of meditation techniques with psychological therapy (The 3 Doors Academy) to work with negative emotions and patterns of behavior; 2) the application of meditation techniques as a support in oncology treatment (research in the M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston, USA), 3) preservation of the Bön tradition by way of studies in the Lishu Institute in India (Lishu Institute), 4) support of and cooperation with Bön monasteries in India, Nepal and Tibet.
