Gomdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche is born in East Tibet (Kham), province of Hor. On request of his grandfather he become a monk at 13. At the age of 14 he has completed the traditional set of preliminary practices for esoteric Bon doctrines, better known as "Ngondro Bumgu" according to the Drenpa Yabse cycle. (Drenpa Yabse was largely followed before the advent of Shadzapa's Kusum Rangshar) He stayed in Lungkar Gonpa and studied Bon philosophy and received transmission of Kalung Gamtso from Lama Lungkar Gelong there. He served there as ritual chant master for three years. Then, he went to Menri Monastery in Central Tibet and studied with Lama Kalzang Nyima. He received from him teachings on Monastic Discipline (Dulwa), Denod Dzod (Tantra Treasure authored by Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche) and A Thrid (very important Bon Dzogchen Meditation manual). Thanks to Lama Kalzang Nyima and his instructions on A Thrid, he was graced with experiential understanding of Great Perfection (Dzogpa Chenpo). Longing for deeper refining of the Nine Vehicles of Bon, he went to Triten Norbutse Bon Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he met his root Lama Yongdzin Rinpoche. He underwent extensive studies in Sutra, Tantra and Dzogchen there.
He has served in the monastery for three years as chant master, and another three years as monastery disciplinarian. In 2001, after completing the 12-year studies, he became Geshe. Thanks to his great insight, in year 2002 he was appointed, by Yongdzin Rinpoche, as the abbot of Meditation School in Triten Norbutse Monastery.
He has received three times the complete Zhang Zhung Nyengyud transmission including initiations from Yongdzin Rinpoche. He has received all Bon initiations (wang) from Yongdzin Rinpoche and from Menri Trizin (twice). Regarding tantric cycle of Magyud (Mother Tantra), he has received the corresponding teachings (MaGyud Gyud Sum - Base, Path and Result) and its wang from Yongdzin Rinpoche (on several occasions). Regarding Phagyud, he has received and studied the Throwo Gyud Drug (View, Meditation, Conduct, Samaya, Thrinle, Siddhi - Result for the Bon Father Tantra).
These are just to mention the most famous cycles of transmissions granted to him.
