Our mission
Our mission is to transmit the Yungdrung Bon tradition to the West in a completely authentic way, in its entirety and at the highest quality.
Yungdrung Bon, the native religion of Tibet, is one of the world's most ancient spiritual traditions. It has a unique and very rich heritage. Its knowledge helps sentient beings to cope with the demands of daily life and ultimately leads them all the way up to full enlightenment.
During the Chinese Cultural Revolution the Bon tradition was nearly extinguished. But through the great hardship and efforts of a few Tibetan teachers in exile, mainly His Holiness Lungtok Tenpa’i Nyima and His Eminence Yongdzin Lopon Tendzin Namdhak, the tradition survived.
Our activities
Shenten Dargye Ling organizes regular teaching retreats and collective practices, and offers facilities to do individual retreat.
We have resident lamas at our premises at Chateaux de la Modtais where we conduct daily meditation practice in the morning and evening.
We operate a meditation school that allows students to receive the full transmission of each of the four main cycles of Dzogchen teaching during longer periods of intensive retreat in the traditional way.
As interest develops we will expand our teaching and study programme.
